Enter the bleed values (you can click the link icon to make them uniform) or select Use Document Bleed to use the bleed settings defined in the New Document dialog. The printed layout with a so-called white frame is one that comes without bleeds. Trim: This feature refers to the size of the physical print material. Trim, margins, and bleed all have a drastic effect on how the material is printed and must be set correctly to ensure a quality final product. If you work in Illustrator to create your final print files or pdfs, simply choose File Save As and then choose. The important part is to have the actual bleed area on there Illustrator. For example, when creating a postcard that is 4圆˝, make your image size 4.25˝圆.25˝. You can add the crop marks yourself, or simply tell your printer that the bleed area is there and let them add the correct crop marks for final cutting. When creating artwork in programs that don’t handle bleeds automatically, like Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Word, set the image size initially to be large enough to include the bleeds. When exporting/saving as a PDF, make sure to include crop marks and bleed information in the PDF dialog creation box pop-up. ![]() Bleed Box The Bleed Box should be just a little larger than your Trim Box, accounting for the bleed. Between the Trim Box and the Object Box, you’ll need a Bleed Box 3. With Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Publisher, set the document size to the desired size of the finished job and simply extend the elements that need to bleed over the edge of the page. The Trim Box is essential for page positioning because it defines the actual page size that you want to be printed. The software you use to create your project will determine how you make the bleeds. ![]()
